Web Site Features and Functionality

The web site you will receive has fully web-based administration. This means you have no need to learn how to write HTML, how to FTP files from your computer to the server, or any of the other things that make running a web site intimidating to an organization that doesn't have members that are technically savvy.

Adding, editing and removing content, uploading files, adding images, and manipulating the look and feel of your web site is done from a completely web based, easy to use system.

There may be somewhat of a learning curve for people new to this sort of system, but we do have complete documentation of all the features available in your free web site, as well as all the features in the commercial services of the sponsor of Charity Pages, Club Management Services. This documentation will explain what the different administration tools of your web site are for, how they work, and in many cases, tutorials as examples of how to do common tasks within your web site.

While this is not a complete list, some of the more common, and useful features of this service are the following:

  • Contact form - Simple form to collect info and send the results to one or many recipients.
  • Message Forums - For collaboration and conversation between club members, or with the community.
  • Mollum Anti-Spam Protection - Protect your web site from spamming and garbage use of user-accessible input forms.
  • OpenID Integration - Supports the use of the "one password for all sites" service of OpenID.
  • RSS Feed Aggregator - Display RSS news feeds from your parent organization or local community.
  • User Management - Complete control over users, user roles and access permissions. No user will be able to get at anything they should be allowed to.
  • User Blogs - Allow users/members to share their thoughts, write articles and the like.
  • Web Based Administration - Completely web browser based control over all aspects of your web site.
  • Web Site Theme Customization - A large selection of different themes to choose from, many with color customization, and control of two or three column layouts, and what content is placed in what areas.
  • WYSIWYG Content Editor - Create content without needing to know HTML, the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor creates it for you.
